Children’s Ski Area featuring Schmidolin’s Dragon Tunnel
Schmittenhöhe / Zell am See (AUSTRIA): The new children’s area constructed by Sunkid near the Areitbahn mountain lift offers beginners perfect conditions in a sunny location.
The previously undeveloped area between the ski slope and the gondola above the top station of the Areitbahn I mountain lift was put to fine use at the beginning of the past winter season. It now features a children's area for the resort's junior skiers. Although the area is located right on the mountain, only a few corrections to the terrain were necessary to achieve an ideal incline. Now, a roughly 229-feet (70m) long conveyor belt with gallery – also referred to as the Schmidolin’s Dragon Tunnel – takes young passengers to the start of the children's area. From there, children can select from a variety of downhill runs. Over the waves, through the gate slalom or between the foam figures: every skier will find the perfect "track."
