Funergy Playground in Weiz
Playground in Styria (Austria)
Energy has always been a big thing in the Styrian town of Weiz. Just a few months ago, the Funergy Park was opened as one of the largest projects promoting the energy theme. Embedded in a “regular” playground, the play equipment offers activities with the "energy" and physics theme. The goal of this playground is to acquaint kids with the topic of energy and the related realm of physics in an interactive form. The wood play equipment designed in an urban style was manufactured by Sunkid cooperating partner Almholz.
Small and sophisticated - Playground
Playground in Jerzens (Austria)
The old playground belonging to the municipality of Jerzens (Austria) and situated right in front of the kindergarten and elementary school in Jerzens, was already over 20 years old and no longer met the TÜV requirements, therefore kids had limited access to it. Even in slightly wet conditions, the old playground could not be used which heavily affected the active recreation possibilities of approx. 70 children during recess periods. On the initiative of residents, led by local councilman Markus Rottensteiner, the Kinder in Bewegung (Children on the move) association was founded to drive the redesigning of the playground. The very small size of the playground and the steep terrain between the two play areas required sophisticated positioning of the wood play equipment by Sunkid.
