Since November 2021, ski tourists in Saas-Fee experience more comfort, thanks to the installation of a new Moving Carpet from Borer Lift AG which is a partner/subsidiary of Sunkid at 3000 m above sea level.

Last fall, a conveyor belt from Borer Lift AG was installed in a special place. In the connecting tunnel on Felskinn 3000 m above sea level, where ski tourists can get from the two feeder lifts Alpin Express and the aerial tramway Felskinn to the underground funicular Metro-Alpin above Saas-Fee, the flat path to the entrance of Metro-Alpin is now comfortably facilitated by a 76.5 m long conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is monitored from the funicular's bottom station. Four cameras provide the funicular staff with total surveillance of the route. In summer and autumn, countless alpine training ski teams from all over the world can be found on the glacier above Saas-Fee. In the morning of the day, the conveyor belt is used in the direction of the funicular, and when the skiers return, it is set in the opposite direction so that the athletes can easily get to the downhill transport facilities. 11 kW are enough to ensure the transport of the 75 cm wide conveyor belt.
