Another Sunkid Moving Carpet for the "1st Austrian Children's Ski-Swing"
The Riesneralm in Donnersbachwald, Styria (Austria), has taken its children's ski area to new heights: The "kingdom for the piste fleas" has been expanded to include an additional conveyor belt and a new ski school center.
The Riesneralm Bergbahnen invested around 750,000 euros in the expansion of the "1st Austrian children's ski swing". In terms of size, it is now comparable to seven soccer pitches. There are five different runs and five different lifts - including four original Sunkid Moving Carpets - available. The extended children's ski area is by far the largest beginners' area in its region, making it one of the best in Austria.
As the reason for the investment in the expansion, Riesneralm Managing Director Erwin Petz emphasizes that they want to "give the little ones a head start" and focus more on family friendliness. "With the latest expansion, we have not only gained in size, but also in quality for our young and adult guests," emphasizes Petz.
"With the new KISI-JET, a 168-metre-long Sunkid conveyor belt and the new ski school center in the middle of the children's ski area, young and adult piste fleas will experience maximum comfort and all-round professional care." The Moving Carpet is from the latest Sunkid "Type N" generation, including "I-CONTROL" control and external operator terminal. With a drive power of 22 kW and a maximum speed of 1.2 m/s, the system is designed for the highest possible transport capacity (theoretically: 1,350 people per hour).
Mathias Schattleitner, Managing Director of the Schladming-Dachstein tourism region, is also enthusiastic about the innovations on the Riesneralm: "High-quality investments and new offers for the whole family always mean a further step towards even more quality for our region. Managing Director Erwin Petz and his team have once again achieved great things with the expansion of the ski school center and the additional "Kisi-Jet" conveyor belt. [...]" At 176 meters, one of the longest ski conveyor belts in Austria, the so-called "Krispini Express", has been in operation in the Riesneralm children's ski area for almost 20 years. Those looking for variety on the slopes can choose between a wave run, tunnel run, adventure course and permanent race track - the KISI Skischaukel RACE.
