Izvoare Resort (Romania) opens 1.200 square meter drift kart attraction
The Izvoare ski resort is located in the heart of the Gutâi Mountains in the Romanian region of Maramureș - known for its breathtaking landscapes and rich traditions. Izvoare is the perfect destination for those looking for a mix of winter sports and relaxation in nature. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Izvoare offers a variety of other activities throughout the year, such as horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking.
The latest adrenaline-filled action takes place on a 1,200 square meter “Drift Karting” circuit - peppered with six tight and wide bends, long full-throttle passages and a covered pit lane. The “Skiddy” plastic surface introduced last year by Italian manufacturer Neveplast and offered by Sunkid serves as the ideal drift surface for the 12 electric karts.
The track opened in mid-July and has been offering young and old an unforgettable, fast-paced and environmentally friendly, quiet motorsport experience ever since. Karts for adults and special models for children are available here.
“The innovative surface material makes it possible to experience kart drifts all year round, even without snow,” says Olmo Balini, Neveplast Sales Manager. “Special thanks go to our partner Sunkid and its Romanian distributor Alin Ciobanu, whose cooperation made this project possible.”
The customer Izvoare Resort Srl Maramureș, in the person of Flaviu Lese, is also enthusiastic about the skiddy surface, “which creates perfect conditions for spectacular drifts, regardless of the weather conditions. It works perfectly in sun, rain or snow and is located in a unique mountainous region surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. “Drift Karting” is not about speed, but about control, skill and innovation. Every driver has the opportunity to test their skills, precision and improvisation on this state-of-the-art track.”
We would like to thank our customer and look forward to further joint projects - such as the two new tubing runs and a dry slope for year-round skiing and snowboarding. These will already be realized in December 2024.
