Le Praz/Courchevel (FRA): Alternative use for the Sunkid Comfort Star small ski lift in the Olympic ski jumping stadium

During the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, the ski jumping competitions were held in Le Praz/Courchevel. Today, this ski jumping stadium continues to serve as a station for the summer Grand Prix of the world's best ski jumpers as well as a training center used year-round. To make it easier for the youngest ski jumpers to climb the smallest hill, a 121-meter long Sunkid Comfort Star small ski lift was installed.

The Comfort Star small ski lift from Sunkid is not only used to close the gap between the Moving Carpet and the "big" stirrup lifts, but also for alternative applications, such as here as an ascent aid for young ski jumpers in Le Praz/Courchevel.

The use as an ascent aid for junior ski jumpers is only one of the numerous alternative uses of the extremely popular Sunkid Comfort Star. However, this small ski lift is mainly used in ski resorts where an ideal gap is needed between the Moving Carpet for beginners and various "big" bow lifts for advanced skiers.

While the Moving Carpet does not pose any major problems for beginners, the subsequent transfer to the various stirrup lifts can be tricky. In order to ensure that the individual skill levels can be interlinked as smoothly as possible, Sunkid offers the"Comfort Star" small ski lift. This small ski lift offers the advantage that it introduces beginners to ski lifts in a simple way. The Comfort Star has a comfort handle that can be rotated continuously on the steel cable and its modular system allows over 80 (!) different combination options. It can be installed up to 350 m without support and is certified according to EU Directive 2000/9/EC.
